At Santa Monica, 3rd street, Sri lanka day was celebrated which was than usual more festive on 23rd, august, saturday. On Broadway, the stage hosted ‘Miss Teen Sri Lanka – America’ and ‘Miss Sri Lanka – America’ pageant to the large gathered crowd. They enjoyed the colorful sri lankan apparels. But not like the most common beauty pageants, here the Miss Teen Sri Lanka – America and Miss Sri Lanka – America were allowed to participate in their traditional dresses. The Perahera, the Sri Lanka parade was a rare experience to the public with Sri Lankan girls dancing, flag bearers, masked performers and drummers. People are expecting for the next year’s Sri Lanka Day as the evening was experiencing the Sri Lankan Culture savoring the last Sri lankan dance the night away with sri lankan food and events.
